“Jim pressed his hand against his friend’s chest and felt it gently rising and falling. Thank god, he was still breathing. And thank god that his suit hadn’t ruptured. Even so, Jim knew that if they didn’t get rescued soon, they would both run out of oxygen and perish on that blistering, cracked surface.
    Just then, above the horizon, he saw a streak of light falling through the clouds like an intense shooting star. The light dimmed and Jim could tell that the object, distant and now barely visible, was a spacecraft entering the atmosphere. It descended until it was a thumb’s width above the horizon and began to bee-line towards them getting larger and larger until, with a deafening roar, it streaked past them overhead. The craft was a sleek, blue and white starfighter. An Omnistar Gunwing, as far as Jim could tell.
    The Gunwing swung around from behind them and approached again at a slower pace, it circled around them once and then fired its retro rockets, and with its landing thrusters burning, touched down on the charred surface about a hundred yards away. With a billow of steam, its underbelly ramp was lowered and hit the ground with a thud. A lone figure stepped out of the ship, it’s spacesuit blue, white, and chrome, with a dark visor - the official colors of an Omnistar Space Ranger.
   They were saved.”
